Catherine Hicks celebrated her birthday Sunday afternoon by having a swimming party at the home of Pat and Bonnie Millican. A birthday cake with pink icing in the shape of a pig, and pink pig cookies were the highlight of the party. Catherine received many nice gifts and was the Queen Bee for the day.

Leon and Mebbie Eckhoff recently returned from a trip to Potstone, Minnesota, where they attended the National American Rambouillet show and sale. Robbie, Amy Eckhoff and their two sons, Ethan and Ory also attended the show. The family didn’t carry any sheep, but did purchase a ram and some ewes to take home with them. Ethan and Ory will take the lambs home to Santa Fe to care for them and get them ready to show in the Junior division.

A memorial service for Dean Self Moore was held at Hawley in the First Baptist church, July 23. She was the grandmother of Amy Eckhoff who passed away while on a trip to Hawaii.

In Bend News last week it was written that Don and Charlie Graham were leaving, which is true and for anyone that would like to have their new mailing address, it is 5868 Fairview Parkway, Fairview, Texas 75069-1525.

Sara Lovejoy reported that she needed assistance so her daughter Ilene Woodward Stokes has moved in to help her mother. Sara found out that she has a hair line fracture in one hip and is taking medication to help strengthen

her bones. She is presently on leave from Walmart.

This past weekend Sylvia Stinnett and her daughter Autumn Edwards of Burnet were in Lubbock to visit Garrison, Brooke and their children Gunner, Suzi and Charlotte. Autumn is scheduled to have gall bladder surgery one day this week.

Richard and Tami Matsler of Arlington were in over the weekend. They stopped by to visit Rufus Cobern Saturday.

George and Toni Mayben was in San Angelo Saturday to help celebrate the birthday of their son Chris Mayben.

Glenda Scroggins is in Scott and White in Temple and underwent lung surgery Tuesday. The Scroggins family needs to be kept in your prayers.

Rufus Cobern and his family should to be kept in your prayers. Eric and Ashley Hernandez were out to the Bend Saturday visiting his parents’ Hugo and Lesa Preece. They spent the afternoon swimming and eating fajitas trying to stay cool. Sunday Hugo and Lesa visited daughter Kristen in

Killeen. Kristen recently purchased a new home.

Sunday R.J. and Patsy Henniger were in Cedar Park celebrating their daughter-in-law, Jill’s birthday. They celebrated by eating at Chili’s with son Mickey, his two sons Jeremy and Jacob and of course Jill. Sounded like a fun thing to do, no one had to cook and, better yet no dishes to wash.

Happy birthday greetings go out to Steve Byrd who will celebrate a birthday July 29, to Mike Allen Byrd who will celebrate a birthday July 30, Dixie Hewitt and Malissa Lemons will celebrate birthdays August 2.

Congratulations go to Carl Adams and Dr. Marilyn Brister who will celebrate their anniversary August 2.
