Receipts totaled 7515 head. The market was active with several new buyers from the Northern states buying cows, pairs and light weight calves. The stocker steers and heifers sold $4-$5 higher after last week’s $5-$7 advance. The 200-400 pound steers and heifers advanced another $10 higher this week. Feeder steers and heifers were steady to $2 higher after last week’s $2 to $5 advance. Packer bulls were steady and the packer cows were $2 higher. The premium weaned calves were in strong demand with several drafts of 20-60 head weighing 600 – 765 pounds selling for $1.37 up to $1.47 on 60 head of 600 pound Angus steers. Heifers were active with 73 head of 605 pound heifers bringing $135.50.
