Two baby lambs in a crowded pen
Thursday, July 21, 2011 • Posted July 21, 2011

Last week we were working some older sheep to send to the sale but in the midst of that bunch of sheep was a ewe with newborn twin lambs. We did not have time to catch them and put them in a separate pen so we just kept working with those to go to the sale. I tried to identify her so we would not separate her from her lambs. All the stirring and moving of the big bunch did not seem to excite her. She just kept looking back and moving quietly making sure that her lambs were with her. Those two little lambs stayed by her side following no other sheep. That event reminds me of something in the Bible. When we accept Jesus as personal Lord and Savior we become His possession or treasure, (Ephesians 2:11-22). We are His and He is ours! In this life there can be many trials and tribulations but we are not to lose heart, (Acts 14:22, James 1:2-4, 1 Peter 1:6-9). That ewe never took her eyes off of those two lambs. She kept trying to get them to quiet and safety. Yes, they did not get separated and we turned them back into a pasture with lots of room and feed. Jesus is dong that for every Christian today leading us to safety and to a new home, (Romans 8:35-39). See you in Church next Sunday.
