San Saba City Council holds regular scheduled meeting

The San Saba City Council met for a regular meeting prior to a budget workshop on Tuesday, July 12th at 6:00 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers. Mayor Ken Jordan called the meeting to order and announced a quorum present with Mayor Pro-Tem Shawn Oliver absent. Alderman Charlie Peeler gave the invocation followed by everyone joining for the pledges to the American and Texas flags.

Susie Jimenez, Director of Keep San Saba Beautiful, presented the 2nd place trophy they received from Keep Texas Beautiful for the Governor's Community Acheivement Award.

San Saba High School FCCLA received the 2011 Ruthie Jackson Award from Keep Texas Beautiful. Gisela Rodriguez, Jose Vega, and Alesha Rogers presented their 2nd place award to City Council

City Attorney, Tim Inman, gave a quarterly report of court activities.

Malissa Mims, the Dove Project Director, presented a video and update of the project.

The following agenda items were approved:

1. Minutes from the June l4th council meetings.

2. Payment of bills presented to City Council.

3. The Vietnam War Monument Proclamation.

4. Resolution No. 2011-10 formal record of action with respect to the adoption of the City of San Saba HRA Plan.

5. Resolution No. 2011-11 certifying adoption of resolution for changes in Cafeteria Plan.

The Council will meet on Monday, July 25th at 6 p.m. prior to a Budget Workshop at 6:25.

Mayor Jordan adjourned the meeting and announced a short break before a Budget Workshop with the following departments presenting their budget requests: Sanitation, Shop, Golf, Police, Code Enforcement, and Animal Control.
