Elm Grove Echoes
Thursday, June 26, 2008 • Posted June 26, 2008

The best news of the week is rain which we received last Thursday night. They registered from .3 to ..6 inch out at Elm Grove, while here in Richland Springs we received from 1 inch to 2.45 inches. The reports are that it was very spotted all over the county. We are grateful for any amount and will continue to hope and pray for more.

Due to several conflicting activities last Saturday night, we only had ten folks attending the community meeting. We all enjoyed the food and fellowship. In the business meeting, it was decided to replace the tops on the picnic tables. Carroll Teague, Ben Dennis and Andy Cummings were appointed to check into the expense involved in using metal instead of wood and report next month.

Curtis Lee gave the 42 tournament and stated that the next one will be at Elm Grove in July.

The Beakley family had their reunion last weekend at the Fred Wulfe hunting lodge near Mercury.

Amy, Georgia and Jesse Tucker all came to spend the day with us last Saturday and we all took in the rodeo parade in San Saba. Rex and Jaxon Tucker were in Baird where Jaxon competed in a 4-H shooting match. He scored his personal best and got to use a pistol for the first time and he was well pleased with the day.

I sure would appreciate any news items that any of you might send in.
