San Saba, July 11, 2011 –San Saba County USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA) Executive Director Valerie Cortinovis, reminds producers that the annual crop certification deadline for spring-seeded crops is July 15, 2011.

Producers who file accurate and timely reports for all crops and land uses, including failed acreage can prevent the potential loss of FSA program benefits.

"I encourage all producers to visit the San Saba County FSA office to file an accurate crop certification report by the July 15 deadline in order to comply with FSA program eligibility requirements," said Cortinovis.

Considering the current drought situation in Texas, producers are also reminded to report crop losses insured through Federal Crop Insurance and the Noninsured Crop Disaster Assistance Program (NAP) within 15 days of the disaster or after the loss is apparent.

For questions regarding crop certification and crop loss reports, please contact the San Saba County FSA office at 325 372-3091.
