San Saba County Commissioners have placed the county under a burn ban. Cherokee Fire Department encourages you to be safe during the Fourth of July holiday. Many fires are started from unsafe use of fireworks.

Kylar Bordner was honored with a birthday party at the home of Marsha and Larry McKneely last Saturday.

Sarah Diener from Houston visited her folks, Dusty and Mary Dell Rhoades.

Charles and Carolyn Perry spent last week at a family reunion in Missouri.

Avery and Maurine Johnson have been in Minnesota visiting family. Avery and his brother, Bob, fished in Canada. Ask Avery about the big fish that he caught.

Willena McKneely and her girls went on a cruise last week.

Check out the new chain link fence at the Methodist Church. It’s perfect for helping Susan keep the little ones corralled on Tuesdays and Thursdays. If you parents need help with your children on those days, just give Susan a call at 622-4456 or 372-1484.

Glen and Martha Weldon have moved back to Texas from AbaDaba, Saudi Arabia. They spent this last weekend visiting Glen’s mother, LaVoyce Sellman.

LaVoyce would like to thank Fannie Proctor and her family for helping LaVoyce get ready for their visit. They cleaned, painted and cooked a wonderful meal for LaVoyce and her family. Drive by LaVoyce’s home and check out her new sign.

Mark and Mary Putter have moved to Bandera. They will certainly be missed in Cherokee.

Payton Suggs is visiting Doug and Cyndi Suggs for the week. If you see a miniature fireman running around the Church of Christ building, that is Payton. His dad is at the National Hurricane Center in Miami for a hurricane update briefing.

Don and Carol Ann Burdine will be visiting with their daughter Stena, her husband, Rob, and their boys this week. They will be here from New Mexico. They plan to spend some time in San Antonio.

The Morrisons and Janiece Duggan spent time over the weekend helping Ryan and Laci Duggan move into their new house. They are moving to the San Angelo area.
