Our Heavenly Father expects, desires, yearns, for us to know Him personally. To know God is to be reading His Word, the Bible. Here I can find all the attributes of God. I can see how He has worked in the lives of His followers and can pattern my life like His.

At the same time there are things that make me sit up and take notice. For instance, in Psalm 139 we see God knows all about us. He knows so much that when we are sitting or standing He knows (2). He knows our thoughts (2). Before we speak, God is already aware of what we will say (4). Does this not want to make you be sure of your deeds and thoughts?

We also see from this Psalm that we cannot hide from God. Adam and Eve found this truth when they sinned in the garden. Any place we go, God is already there (7-10). What an awesome God we have and serve. Do you think the gods of other religions are as aware as our God? Definitely not! They are dead and buried in their tombs and their bodies have decayed.

Along with these two things, our God is powerful. He has formed us (13). The Psalmist said "I am fearfully and wonderfully made" (14). God has given us all we need as His creation. You and I can give thanks to our God for this.

Just think what the above words mean to each of us. We have a God who knows all about us, even our most private thoughts. Our God is always present for us in times of need and times when things are going well. And, our God is so powerful. He can do anything.

Wow! What a God!

Now, I have a question to ask. Do you believe this? Do you believe God really cares for you? Sometimes we question whether or not God cares. When I read a passage like this, I can say, "Yes, He cares for me." And, I hope each one reading these words feels the same way. Even when we may not see God’s presence in our lives, He is there! He is caring for you, loving you, protecting you. I have this assurance from His Word. So do you.
