Margaret Bales Ratliff, 96, formerly of Kingsland, died June 14th in Austin. She was the daughter of Marvin B. Bales and Lillie Templeton Bales, of Lone Grove, Llano County, Texas. Mrs. Ratliff was a school teacher who taught many years in the Bowser and Richland Springs schools.

She married the late Wortham W. Ratliff of Llano in 1936. She is survived by two daughters: Peggy George (husband David), Nashville, Tennessee; and Judi Davis, Austin, Texas; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; two sisters; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held June 17th at the First Baptist Church in Kingsland, with Dr. David C. George officiating. Burial followed at Board Branch Cemetery in Lone Grove, Texas. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice or to the American Cancer Society.
