San Saba County 4-H hosts Sewing Camp

San Saba Co. 4-H hosted 4-H Sewing Camp June 27-30 at the San Saba ISD’s Homemaking Building.

Eleven 4-H’ers participated in the event under the direction of Betty Wilson, Doris Cates, Nelda Edgmon, Maurine Johnson, Kay Stewart, Joann VanGorp, Charlotte Spence.

The youth sewed each morning from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. They made such items as sun dresses, shorts, throws, tote bags, pillows, etc. Several of the girls worked on fleece throws that were given to Eventide Nursing Home for their residents.

At the conclusion of the camp the youth showed off their projects with a Parade of Fashion at the Senior Center at 12 noon. Also participating but unable to attend the camp were Shayna Underwood, Micah Cox, Hallie Taylor, Katy Ingram and Angel Turner. A special thanks goes to San Saba ISD and Alesha Rogers for the use of the Homemaking Building
