Dorothy Deaton

Dorothy Aileen Deaton, 85, of Sanderson, died in Iraan Friday, June 3, less than a week after her husband Jack died at 95.

A graveside service for both was Saturday, June 4, at Cedar Grove Cemetery. Alpine Memorial Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Dorothy was born in San Saba May 28, 1926 to Allen I and Lois Estep Sutton. She was a homemaker, bookkeeper, and rancher for 64 years. She is survived by her daughter, Lois Deaton White; two sons, Don R. Deaton and Jack D. Deaton; a sister, Reba Monroe; seven grandchildren, Douglas Deaton and wife Vanessa, Diane Deaton Street, Chris White, Cherise White Miller, Cody White, Dana Deaton LaChance and Jana Deaton Esparza and eight great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, A.I. Sutton.

"Dorothy's happiest moments were when she was at the ranch with her cows, many of whom she named," daughter-in-law Debbie said. "Dorothy was a devoted mother and devoted her life to her family."
