Oliver Reunion held at Harmony Ridge

The descendents of Andrew, Mark and Polk Oliver met for their annual reunion on June 11 and 12, 2011 at Harmony Ridge. The three brothers settled this area in the mid 1870s.

Saturday evening the Harmony Ridge Cemetery association met for its annual meeting with about 60 family and friends enjoying fried fish prepared by Marlis Oliver and crew.

On Sunday morning, Marvin and Ann Oliver led the group in several gospel songs. Jarrett Oliver read from Psalms and Daniel and spoke about how God is in control and stated the possible reasons our ancestors came to America.

The oldest at the reunion was 97 year old Elsie Millican. The youngest was 2 1/2 year old Tesla Estevez, daughter of Leo and Roe Ann Estevez of Rowlett. Traveling the farthest was Tesla who recently came from Taiwan.

Nearly 100 family and friends enjoyed barbecue prepared by Marlis.

Oliver, Vicki and Stacy Oliver, Guy and Kerianne Oliver, Jason Oliver and Marlis, Heather, Baker Jackson and Charlie Oliver of Austin; Margaret and Ben Agnor of Marshall; Leonard and Mary Ann Oliver, Danny, Annette, Trenton and Brantley Oliver, Tommie Worth and Bobby Wood of San Antonio; Mike and Beth Grimes of Moody; Wes and Amy Ferguson and Sam Ferguson of Belton; Grace Wood of Denton; Marvin and Ann Oliver of Hewitt; Danna, Nena, Deanna and Cory Hoover of Burnet; Steve Kovich of Dallas; Leo, Roe Ann and Tesla Estevez of Rowlett; Bryan and Sheila Burton of Beaumont; Mike and Jill Millican of Brownwood; Jarrett Oliver of Leander; Scotty and Juanette Oliver of Cedar Park; John and Jean Barfield and family of Hurst; Taylor and Alice Bradley of Ft. Worth; Dale and DiAnne Scott and John and Ann Altizer of Cherokee; Lynn Judkins and Jim and Pam Spivey of Richland Springs.

Attending from San Saba were Reagan, Marcie, Alexa, McKenna and Linzey Maxcey, Klela Waldie, Bob and Debbie Millican, Shawn, Nancy, Hayden, Haylee and Holt Oliver, Clydene Oliver, Una Oliver, Elsie Millican and Buddie and Bettie Oliver.

Attending from out of state were John and Margaret Johnson of Litchfield, Minnesota and Gary and Rogelia Oliver of Hemet, California.
