Marvin Riggs honored for thirty-four years of service

Ken Jordan, Mayor of the City of San Saba, proclaimed Tuesday, June 14, 2011 as "Marvin Riggs Day," recognizing Marvin for the service and leadership provided by him during his 34 years of dedicated service as a City Council Alderman.

Citizens of the area joined in a celebration at the City Council Chambers from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. on June 14th. Marvin was accompanied to the celebration by his wife, Barbara. They celebrated 62 years of marriage on June 10th. They have four sons; four grandchildren; seven great-granddaughters and two great grand sons.

Marvin has taken pride in his home-town by contributing his time, energy and skills to planning and developing the Community Center to the benefit of the citizens of San Saba among other accomplishments. He is a businessman, a family man, enjoys golf, serves at The Father’s House and relies on God for guidance and provision.
