Elm Grove Echoes

The bad news of the week is that we have not had any rain and there is none in the forecast.

We had a good turn out for the Elm Grove VFD fundraiser last Saturday night. I have not had any reports on the totals brought in, but I would hope it was a good amount. There were a lot of nice things auctioned off as well as a lot of donations. The fish was very good, as always. Jeffrey Bates does a great job every time of frying the fish. All of the fire departments have had a lot of extra expenses this year, so it is always good to help them out whenever we can.

At the 42 tournament, Bryan Smith and Larry Fischler took home first place and Bill Harlow and Donna Webb placed second.

The community meeting will be this Saturday night at 7:30 PM. We plan to make a trip to Ozona to visit my niece who has been diagnosed with leukemia. We will try to get back in time for the meeting.

The Busy Bee quilters will meet on the 21st. It was postponed due to other conflicts.

Stacie and Santos Elizondo and Sophia visited us Saturday afternoon on their way to Stacie’s 20th high school reunion out at the Heatherly ranch. Miss Sophia is very entertaining now that she is running all over the house. She celebrated her 1st birthday last Friday. I think she celebrated for about a week!

Jax, Georgia and Jesse Tucker spent the weekend with us and attended the fish fry at Elm Grove while their parents celebrated their 16th anniversary.
