Last week Jane Clark and her son, Bobby Clark were in N.M. visiting Mrs. Hays as she was back in the hospital. She was later moved into a Rehab center in Dora where she passed away Thursday night. Jane, Bobby, Danny Clark and Kristi Messer drove to New Mexico Sunday to attend the funeral which was Monday at 2:00 p.m.. in Dora. She will be greatly missed by members of her family and friends.

Jamie Andrew and A.J. Houdy-shell was in Dora, N.M. last week visiting Donny and Jo Beth Massey.

Shirley Meischen suffered a fall in her home Saturday hurting her lower back and cracked a toe. Her doctor told her to stay in her recliner for a week or two giving her back time to get better.

The fish fry for the Bend Methodist church will be held Friday, June 18 at 6:00 p.m. at the Methodist Camp Ground. Jackie Brister and helpers will be frying the fish and the women of the church will be preparing all the side dishes plus all the desserts.

Winnie Lou McCoury reported that her great grandson, Cole Keen won 1st place in Mutton Busting Saturday night at Gause. He received a trophy and cash award. It was his first time at riding. Congratulations, Cole. Sounds like there may be another cowboy in the McCoury family.

Sunday Phillip Morris took his mother Lola Morris to Naruna to a birthday celebration for Billie Johnson who was celebrating her 90th birthday.

The Texas Parks and Wildlife were out checking on the conditions of the Colorado river Monday. There is still water in the river, but if it doesn’t rain before long it will continue to go down. Rain is needed in the worse way. Hay is being fed to livestock to make up for not having enough grass in pastures.
