Saddle up San Saba County, it's rodeo time!

The San Saba County Chamber of Commerce 73rd Annual Pecan Capital of the World Rodeo and Parade is set to kick off June 10th and 11th at the rodeo arena on Highway 16 N. The fun gets started when the gates open at 5:30 p.m. and the rodeo starts at 7:00 p.m. Admission: Adults $10.00, children 12 and under $5.00. Military free with ID. The concession stand will be serving burgers (cooked by the Knights of Columbus), fries, drinks and candy. The rodeo is produced by IROC Producers sanctioned by CPRA, UPRA, TCRA, and the rodeo events are sure to impress.

The All American Cowgirl Chicks will be performing both nights, trick riding on their fabulous horses. Their show is a must see. The events for both nights will be bareback riding, steer wrestling, breakaway roping, saddle bronc riding, barrel racing, bull riding, ranch bronc riding, kids mutton bustin' and calf scramble. After the Saturday night rodeo, be sure to stick around for the dance starring Mark Scott and his Southern Comfort Band. (The dance admission is included in your Saturday rodeo ticket).

Saturday morning, June 11th, stake out a good spot to watch the parade, which starts at 10:00 a.m. at 10th and Wallace. The All American Cowgirl Chicks, the IROC clowns, trick roping cowboys will parade with our many wonderful local entries; you will see wagons, mules, horses, carriages, 4-wheelers and floats. The parade is not to be missed!

Call the Chamber, 325-372-5141 for an entry form and come out and parade with us.

Rodeo tickets are available at the chamber office 8:00 a.m. until noon, Monday through Friday, Arrowhead Bank, Harry's and any of the 15 directors of the San Saba County Chamber of Commerce.

County Team Roping will be held Thursday evening at the Rodeo Arena, June 9th.
