Melvin "Sunny" Hunt, 68, of Austin, TX passed away on Friday, June 3, 2011 at Seton Hospital in Austin. Melvin was born on January 3, 1943 in San Saba, TX to David and Lula Hunt. On December 21, 1964 in Fort Worth, TX Melvin and Cheryl Hunt were united in marriage. In January of 1966 Melvin was enlisted in the Army were he proudly served in the United States Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. Melvin made his living as a Construction Superintendent.

Melvin was survived by his wife, Cheryl Hunt of Austin; daughter, Katrina Hunt of Austin; grandchildren, Steven Smolinsky of Austin; Jacob Wimberly of Austin and Karah Wimberly of Austin; brother, David "Buster" Hunt of San Saba; sister, Madeleine Reynolds of San Saba; sister-in-law, Lisa Hernandez of San Saba; mother-in-law, Alene Romair of San Saba; numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 7, 2011 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Howell Doran Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at Howell Doran Funeral Home with Rev. Welton Watson officiating. Interment at Feazle Cemetery.
