The San Saba Ladies Golf Association met for the monthly business meeting June 2, 2011 with the following members present: Sandee Hartley, Dorothy Sterner, Becky Hardin, Jo Ann Snow, Jo Anne Hardy, Hattie Rogers, Janet Hoyt, Bobbie Churchill, and Anita Miles.

President Anita Miles called the meeting to order and called on Hattie Rogers for the opening prayer. The Secretary, Jo Anne Hardy, read the minutes and they were approved as read. She also announced that she had sent a ‘Thank You’ card to the City National Bank for sponsoring the Four Lady Tournament. The Treasurer, Bobbie Churchill, gave the financial report and a report on the Spring Four Lady Pecan Classic Tournament.

The President gave an update on the Music Festival and it was voted on to participate and sell sausage wraps and ice tea.

The 4-Ball Chair, Sandee Hartley, announced that Traveling 4-Ball will be in San Saba on June 9, 2011 and assigned the jobs for the event.

The meeting adjourned for play day and the Chair for June, Jo Anne Hardy, called for a game of the point system to prepare for the 4-Ball event.

The team of Sandee Hartley, Dorothy Sterner, and Janet Hoyt defeated the team of Anita Miles, Jo Ann Snow, and Becky Hardin by one point.

Sandee and Jo Ann both scored birdies and chipped in to split the chip in pot and Sandee also won the putt pot and scored the Low Gross for the day and Jo Ann scored the Low Net for the day.

May 26, 2011 Sandee Hartley, Dorothy Sterner, Hattie Rogers, Jo Ann Snow, Janet Hoyt, and Debbie Lee met for play day with the Chair for May, Bobbie Churchill, calling for a game of Pick Sides less half your handicap. First Place went to Janet, who also scored the Low Net for the day, and Second to Debbie, who also won the putt pot and was Low Gross for the day. Sandee scored the only birdie and chipped in to split the chip in pot with Jo Ann.

It was reported Bill Hardy scored an eagle this past week. I guess he’s trying to keep up with granddaughter, Shelby Hardy, who just keeps on keeping on in the golf world!

Summer is here and we have the heat and the mosquitos, but not to worry, we love that game called golf and we’re extremely thankful to be ‘swinging!’
