MASON & SAN SABA - Receipts totaled 2205 head for the week. The market was active and demand good. The pairs that were consigned off the Nabers Ranch sold from $1275 up to $1590 with buyers from Texas, Oklahoma and Nebraska. This week saw more fleshier new crop calves coming to town which saw the stocker steers sell $2 to $3 lower and heifers sell on a steady market. Feeder steers were $2 lower and heifers were steady even after the week’s big jump in corn prices and lower fat cattle prices. Packer bulls were $1 to $2 lower with the top bull at $.93 and packer cows sold $2 lower.
