Ladies Golf Notes

The San Saba Ladies Golf Association met May 19, 2011 for play day with the Chair for May, Bobbie Churchill, calling for a game of "Best At Something", where you are awarded a point for being in the fairway on your drive, for being on the green in regulation, and for a one putt - you have to subtract a point for being in a hazard, loosing your ball, or a three putt.

First Place went to Anita Miles, who also chipped in to win the Chip in Pot, and scored the Low Gross and Low Net for the day. Second Place went to Hattie Rogers, and Third Place to Jo Anne Hardy, who also won the Putt Pot with 31 putts. Dorothy Sterner and Janet Hoyt both scored a birdie for the day. Jo Ann Snow and Sandee Hartley also had a great round of golf.

I failed to mention last week when I reported on the Four Lady Tournament, that we have another lady who always works and supports all our projects, BOBBIE CHURCHILL! Bobbie is no longer able to play golf, but she still serves as our Treasurer and comes almost every Thursday to watch the play day and have lunch with the ladies. We all love Bobbie! She was one of the first ladies to arrive at the tournament last week, as she always takes the entry fees and balances the money and pays all the bills. She is a valuable member to our organization, and besides that she’s fun! And oh how she wishes that she was out there with us just a ‘swinging!’
