Scott Letbetter receives Doctor of Medicine Degree

Scott Alan Letbetter, Jr. received his Doctor of Medicine degree at the 109th commencement ceremony from Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The ceremony was held Monday, May 16, 2011 at the Kimmel Center in center city Philadelphia. Dr. John M. Daley, MD, FACS, FRCPS was the commencement speaker. Dr. Daly is an internationally renowned oncologic surgeon, author, researcher, and academician.

Dr. Scott Letbetter received his Bachelor's Degree in Biochemistry from Texas Tech University in 2007, his Master's Degree in Medical Science from the University of North Texas Health Sciences Center in 2008 and his Doctor of Medicine Degree from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA.

Dr. Scott Letbetter is the son of Scott and Mary Jane Letbetter of Albuquerque, NM and grandson of Joe and Frances Gamboa and Larry and Carol Letbetter of San Saba, TX.

Family members attending the commencement ceremony were Sharla Letbetter of Philadelphis, PA; Scott, Mary Jane, and Taylor Letbetter of Albuquerque, NM; Larry and Carol Letbetter, Joe and Frances Gamboa, Roseann Moreno and Anita Gamboa all of San Saba, TX; Debbie McWilliams of Lubbock, TX; Michael and Shannon McWilliams of Columbus, Ohio; and Mitchell McWilliams and Kristin Townsend of Austin, TX.

Dr. Letbetter and his wife, Sharla, will be moving to Temple, TX in June to begin his Emergency Medicine residency training at Scott and White Memorial Hospital as part of the Texas A&M University residency program.
