Adams Cemetery Meeting held May14
Thursday, May 26, 2011 • Posted May 26, 2011

The Adams Cemetery Association met Saturday, May 14, 2011.

The descendants of early settlers, W.S. and Lydia Adams meet each year in May for fellowship, business of the association and necessary clean up.

The group began gathering early with gloves and tools ready to work. The cemetery was recently mowed so the main work was removing fallen tree limbs and other debris.

The business meeting began following the pledge to the flag. The main project discussed and approved was to extend the pavilion approximately 20 feet.

It was noted that in the future some of the tall cedar trees would need to be removed due to weather related damage.

In the absence of historian, Jeff Wigley, Mary Kate Adams reported on a genealogy web site that has been set up.

A fried fish lunch was prepared by Mike McKinnerney and Todd Burks. The fish, fries and hush puppies along with side dishes brought was enjoyed by all.

The group will meet again next year in May 2012.
