The San Saba High School Alumni Association, in conjunction with its seventh annual meeting, held its annual golf tournament at the San Saba River Golf Course.

There were twenty-four entrants in the tournament divided into five teams for the scramble format. When the smoke cleared and the dust settled, there were a total of two strokes separating the five teams.

There was a three-way tie for first place with a score of 12 under par and a two-way tie for second place with a score of 11 under par. In a score-card playoff, the team of Jimmie Shahan, Gene Weyerts, Tommy Ringo, Scott Ringo and Brad Ringo won the first place honors.

Second place went to the team of Mike Ivy, Roy Woodward, Mike Connors, Mike Allen, and Ralph Wilson.

Third place was claimed by the team of David Potts, Eddie Edwards, Jerry Minter, Johnny Clawson, and Franklin Potts.

The remaining two teams were composed of John Reavis, Marshall Potts, Larry Hardin, Keith Shahan, Stephen Shahan, Ray Hawkins, Tina Harvell, Scott Glaze, and Dane Mahan.

There was a closest to the pin awarded on the front and the back nine, which was claimed by Mike Ivy on both sides.
