Richland Springs ISD is proud to announce Stephen Fowler as Valedictorian and Emily Smith as Salutatorian. Richland Springs will graduate 11 seniors on Friday, May 27

Eighth grade also has a ceremonial graduation. Richland Springs ISD is proud to announce that eighth grade Valedictorian is Jacob Cohn and Salutatorian is Storm Teel.

Last week 17 honor students were recognized from Richland Springs at the annual Rotary Honor Banquet. Congratulations to Brennen McGinty who received a $1000 scholarship from the Rotarians. Thanks to all the Rotary Club members who recognize students each year for their outstanding achievements. The meal and speakers were outstanding.

Baccalaureate practice and a luncheon will be held at the First Christian Church on Thursday. Baccalaureate will be held at First Christian Church on May 22nd at 6:00 p.m.

The Richland Springs ISD Bond Election failed by fifty votes. Vote totals were 148 FOR and 198 AGAINST.

The Richland Springs Coyotes are preseason favorites to capture the State Football Division II Six-Man Title in 2011. This coming weekend about 100 coaches from across the state will be in Richland Springs for the annual Heart of Texas Coaching Clinic sponsored by the Richland Springs coaching staff. Robin Crisp always helps preparing the BBQ. Next year’s RS Athletic Booster Club officers are: President Jason Lewis, Vice President Maxine Robbins, Secretary Kim Tinney, and Treasurer Ann Reyes. Thanks to all who give of their time and talents in support of our students.

If you see a teacher in public, tell them how much you appreciate their efforts. We have a great community, students, teachers and staff.

Community involvement is the key to our success!
