Art classes at LCHEC this summer

The Lampasas County Higher Education Center will offer two studio art courses this summer: Drawing (ART 102) and Watercolor (ART 104). Both will be taught by Robert Bear.

The drawing course is for intermediate or advanced students. In this course, students will continue to develop their drawing skills and areas of interest with a variety of drawing mediums of their choice. Realistic to abstract subjects will be addressed with regard to composition, 3-D rendering, specific medium qualities and techniques, visual communication, and presentation. A list of materials is available upon request. Tuition is $99 plus supplies.

In the watercolor course, students will become familiar with watercolor materials, color relationship, painting terms, and a variety of painting techniques. Care and presentation of paintings will also be addressed. Participants will be encouraged to explore their individual interests with regard to art styles and subject matter. A list of materials is available upon request. Tuition is $99 plus supplies.

Robert Bear holds a Master of Science from Texas A&M University – Kingsville and has years of experience teaching and practicing art. He is recipient of the Hunting Art Prize, Best of Show from the Oklahoma Wildlife Festival, among other awards. His work is on view at Frames and Things of Cove Terrace in Copperas Cove, as the featured artist for the month of April.
