The LeMaster family held their annual fish fry April 30.They feasted on Salmon from Alaska, Crappie, and white bass from Texas with all the trimmings. Mille LeMaster was in the hospital while the big event was going, but they did save some of the desserts for her. They held their usual domino and horse shoe tournaments. The results are as follows:
The Horse throw, Dean LeMaster and John first, Nick Munoz and Ted Shilop was 2nd and third place went to Joe LeMaster and Elizabeth Patton. In the forty-two tournament the winners are first Place Jo Cook and John Lemaster, 2nd place went to Howard LeMaster and Richard Norman, third place to Skip LeMaster & Roel. The people came from Alaska, Michigan, N. C. Houston, Granite Shoals, Copperas Cove, Temple, Killeen ,Lometa, Lampasas and Florida. There were 157 people attending this year.
Shirley Meischen reported that she and Jerome were in Waco last Saturday to see their son-in-law Steve Gideon inducted in the Texas High School Football Hall of Fame. He received the Gordan Woods coach award. Then on
Sunday they attended the Meischen reunion in Shelby, Texas. Their granddaughter Jessica Barefoot will be getting married May 21. It seems they have had a very busy month. They also received news that their other granddaughter Quincee Gideon will be getting married on September 4, in Nashville, Tennessee.
There are folks in the area who are in need of your prayers. Rufus Cobern’s health is not good. Bernice and LaFayne Porter are also in need of prayer. Bernice is about the same and LaFayne is going in for chemo every other week. Monty Arms and her husband Billy Gene of Granbury are also in need of prayer. He is in ICU suffering from double Pneuamia. It was reported that Elsa Dean Shirley of New Mexico was recovering at home just fine.
Saturday Jamie Houdyshell and children A.J. and Andrew, Doug, Kristi Messer and children Jordan and Jaylee along with William and Jane Clark went to Round Rock to help son Bobbie Clark and nephew Kenneth Shirley celebrate their birthday. Danny Clark and Bill Ennis from Bastrop were also there to help celebrate the birthdays. They had crawfish boil and for the ones who didn’t want that could eat roasted weiners. There was something for everyone and around 50 people attended the celebration.
Sunday for Mother’s Day Jamie and boys and Doug, Kristi and children enjoyed lunch with Jane and William. That afternoon they attended a cake cutting for
Lola Morris held at the home of Phillip and Bobbie Morris.
Gary and Melinda Freeland, their son Jacob and daughter Shelby Rose of Canyon Lake came in Friday to be with his mother, Jane Tinney for Mother’s Day.
Sunday Alton, Kim andTreavor of San Saba along with Ann Reyes and Tommy Halen of Richland came and everyone enjoyed the fish and trimmings that was cooked by Tommie.
Happy birthday greetings go out to Hunter Lucas who will celebrate his birthday May 13, Bill Price who will celebrate his birthday May 16, to Lesa Preece, Peggy Henniger and Terry Marley whose birthday is May 17, to Wilma Jo Byrd who will celebrate on May 18.
