This week is a most important week. Our community has several very important elections taking place with the final vote to be cast on May 14. Early voting has come to a conclusion and voters have May 14 left to cast their votes. For San Saba ISD, we have the Bond Election under consideration on this date, but we also have a Trustee Election that will be determined on May 14. Two new board members will come on to serve as trustee for San Saba ISD. Leaving the trustee positions will be President, Darrin Barker and former, president, Bob Whitten. Darrin has served as a trustee for 9 years and Bob has served the ISD for 12 years. During their time on the board they have both become experts in school finance and have helped the school navigate successfully through a complicated state school finance system. These two gentlemen brought with them a broad prospective of what is good for all children, our school and our community. It is difficult for a board member to leave their agenda behind and focus on what is best for all children. As school employees and as board members we have to believe that all children can learn and be successful. Darrin and Bob embody this belief and turned their belief in to action of the past years of service. We appreciate their dedication to San Saba ISD and for their time on the board. Serving as a school trustee is sometimes a thankless job. The meeting hours are long and the only compensation is the feeling of pride when the school and its students do well! THANKS to Darrin Barker and to Bob Whitten for your services as a School Board Trustee and for your continued support in the future.

School is quickly coming to an end. Please recall that Friday, May 27 is a FULL day. Due to earlier bad weather days, the ISD had to make Friday, May 27 a full day rather than a half, early release day. Eighth Grade Promotion will be held at the Armadillo Arena at 1:00 pm on Friday, May 27 and San Saba High School Graduation will be held at the Armadillo Arena at 7:00 pm on Friday, May 27.
