Susan Perry graduated from Angelo State University on

Saturday, May 7,2011, with a degree in Special Education . She will be certified grades 1-6 general education and grades 1-12 special education. There was a host of family and friends there to congratulate her—her mom, Connie Lynn Perry; fiance, Travis Shannon; sister, Elizabeth Ratliff with her husband Joel and children, Garrett, Erin, Patrick, and Olivia;her brother, Bobby Perry; aunt and uncle Cathy and Mark Amthor; Tim, Wendy, and Trey Shannon; and Nancy Light. After graduation they all returned to Susan’s house for a celebration dinner. Now they are busy getting ready for Susan and Travis’s wedding on June 11.

Weekend guests of Charles and Carolyn Perry were Robert and Kay Silva from Early and Kirk and Darlene Perry from Newburg.

Janiece Duggan had a house full last weekend. Many came for Cherokee Day, Mother’s Day and to celebrate Pressley Duggan’s first birthday.

On Mother’s Day, Maybelle and Gary Ray had lunch with Randy, Joyce and Brandon Capps in Lampasas.

It was great to see Mickey Harr and his girls at the Baptist Church on Mother’s Day.

A.R. Kuykendalls funeral was last Saturday at the Church of Christ and burial at the Gray Cemetery.

Doug Suggs and James Johnston from San Saba spent several days this week at a workshop in San Marcus.

Monica and Sam Baisden visited with Doug and Cyndi Suggs last weekend. They came to Cherokee Day and to bring Doug a special surprise. Sam and his Dad built Doug a motor bike. You will see Doug around town soon on his new bike. Now maybe he can catch Victor....

Maurine and Tracy Johnson and Sue Rhoades were treated to Mother’s Day Lunch with a BBQ brisket that Avery fixed. Richard and Jerry Randolph also came over to enjoy the food and a musical program by Kendall. Brady took care of the tickets and make-believe drum accompaniment! Congratulations to Perry and Karen Covington on the birth of their grandson, Calen Ryland Covington. Calen was born on Tuesday April 19 at 6:50 a.m.

He is the son of Chris and Carina Covington. He is also the grandson of Louie and Francille Vessel of Abilene.
