One vehicle crash on Hwy 45
Thursday, May 12, 2011 • Posted May 12, 2011

Early Saturday morning, San Saba and Richland Springs emergency crews along with law enforcement were called to the scene of a one vehicle motor vehicle crash. The pickup truck, which was traveling southbound on 45 failed to stop at the curve and shot up and over the railroad tracks going airborne before crashing to a stop on the south side of the tracks.

San Saba EMS transported one victim to the hospital to be treated for injuries sustained during the crash, but two others left the scene.

Sheriff Brown stated that this was an alcohol related crash and that DPS Trooper Mark Owens and Deputy Sheriff James Barrows are currently working the investigation.

If you have any information as to the identity of the other two suspects, please contact law enforcement.

Sheriff Brown stated that this was not the first alcohol related crash that individuals had walked away from or failed to report. There has been one on FM 501, FM 45 and on CR 204, with vehicles totaled and in some instances private property was damaged and the drivers going to the hospital to avoid law enforcement. Brown stated, "We know why they do this, in most of these crashes because of the alcohol left at the scene, but wish to remind individuals that it is against the law to fail to report a motor vehicle crash and with medical records an arrest warrant can be issued for their arrest. Please activate the proper 911 response and get the proper authorities to the scene."
