Recently I had the opportunity to work with a small church in another city. We took a chuck wagon, (original and over 100 years old) and set it up and shared the gospel with people at one of the top bull riding events. There were many top, (super) bulls and many world bull riding champions competing there. There are many things involved in becoming a world champion. First, there has to be the want to, then there has to be commitment and dedication. Then comes time and lots of hard work. Seeing that bull riding event reminds me of something in the Bible. How do we become champions in God’s realm? First, we have to want God in our lives. Second, we can not do it ourselves, we need help or a helping hand. That is why God sent His Son Jesus Christ to die for our sins, (John 3:16). We must be willing to ask for forgiveness and call upon Jesus to save us, (Acts 4:12 &11:18). Just as one young wannabe bull rider was not doing too good till he went to a famous bull riding school and then he was on the road to becoming a world champion. If we never accept Christ, we will never stand in the winners circle, (Matthew 7:14, 1 John 5:1-5 &11&12). I do not know about you but when I stand before God I want to be a winner not a loser.
