GED Test to be given at Gatesville High School
Thursday, April 28, 2011 • Posted April 28, 2011

The GED test will be given at Gatesville High School, May 10 and 11 in room 22 at the high school. You must register to take the test Wednesday, May 4, in room 22 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. You will need to bring your Texas Drivers License or State or Federal Photo ID, Social Security card and $65.00. You will also need to bring the ID to the test. The registration will take about 30 minutes to an hour. If you are 17, you need to bring a guardian with you to register and also have withdrawal papers from the last school attended.

If you failed the test between 2002 and 2009 and need to retake one or more parts, each part costs $10.00 to retest and it must have been six months since you took the test or have a letter from the instructor saying that you are ready to take the test. You will need to bring a copy of the previous test scores if you have tested before. If you are under 18, there are other qualifications also. The test will be given at 5:15 p.m. on both May 10 and 11. You must attend both nights to complete the test. You must bring ID with you all three nights. It usually takes about 4 hours each night for testing.

If you are a new tester, there is one part of the registration you need to do on line at www.utk16.org/scoring (phone help line - 512-475-9400, if needed). This is the first step toward testing. On the home page you will find a large link entitled "GED TESTERS: click here for the GED Demographic Form" in bold red text. Once testers click this link, they will find the clear, step by step instructions. If you are planning to take the test at Gatesville, be sure to use 0750 for the center number. The rest of the registration and paying to take the test must be done at GHS. There will be no testing in July or August.

Please share this information with anyone that you think might be interested in taking the test. If there are other questions, please call Barbara Huntley at 512-8
