Thursday, April 28, 2011 • Posted April 28, 2011

The Live Oak EE Club met Monday, April 18th at Live Oak Club House.

Shana Paddy, president, called the meeting to order. Dorothy Gage led the club in reciting the Prayer of Club Women of America. Six members and one guest answered roll call with their favorite magazine. Members present were Amanda Jackson, Dorothy Gage, Shana Paddy, Bertha Griffay, and Betty Wilson. Carolyn McDowell was guest. Dorothy gave minutes of last meeting and treasurer’s report. Betty Wilson gave report on District 7 TEEA Spring Conference held in Anson, Texas, on April 12th.

The club elected Bertha Griffay club treasurer.

Topics discussed included utilities for club house, picture and memorial for Connie Ballinger, and items for May event scheduled May 12th.

Betty Wilson was elected to represent the club to be considered for state delegate.

Carolyn gave an interesting and educational program regarding size of food servings today compared to 40 years ago. Today, most serving dishes are 5 inches larger than 40 years ago so if we eat everything on our plates today, as most of us were taught to do, we are eating more than we should plus most times it is not a nutritionally balanced meal.

Delicious refreshments were served by Dorothy.
