Carolyn McDowell presented the program "Common Sense." She used dishes to show the difference in the larger size we have today compared to back in the 1970s. The serving size has not increased as much. The larger servings can cause over weight in our families. The restaurants have super sized the meals and drinks over the years. Meat should be about the size of a deck of cards, half of the plate should be vegetables and fruits. A baseball is equal to one cup; a light bulb is equal to 1/2 cup. We should have a balanced diet daily.
Doris Cates served refresh-ments to Noma Fitzgerald, Imogene Hawkins, Marilyn Miller, Lynn Blankenship, Jackie Doner, Gloria Lusty and Carolyn McDowell.
