A Goat among the Sheep
Thursday, April 28, 2011 • Posted April 28, 2011

Last week my wife and I were feeding some sheep and to our surprise up walked a goat. Now it was not just any ordinary goat it was a hair goat or Angora goat one that produces mohair. It was totally white with lots of hair. I knew it was not mine because I do not have any hair goats but my neighbor across the highway does. I guess that goat found a hole in the fence and got in with the sheep. That hair goat reminds me of something in the Bible. Jesus called people that have submitted their lives to Him and called upon or are trusting in Him for Salvation, sheep. And people who have rejected God and Jesus Christ, goats. While we are on the earth Christians and non Christians will dwell together. But when physical death comes the two are treated differently. The Bible pictures Jesus one day sitting on a glorious throne and judging everyone. The ones that have trusted Christ, sheep, (obeyed God) He moves to His right but the disobedient or unbelieving goats, He moves to His left, (Matthew 25:31-46). Those on the right will enter into His presence and a New Kingdom for eternity. But those on the left he will say, "Depart from Me accursed ones" and they will be cast away to eternal punishment, (Matthew 25:41). Trusting in Christ is so important. See you in Church next Sunday.
