Three students traveled to the High School UIL Academic Regional Meet in Brenham on Friday, April 15. Representing Richland Springs were Sara Hedley, Stephen Soto-Thornhill, and Thomas Fowler. Staff traveling with the students were UIL coordinator Nelson Smith and volunteer Melanie Smith. None of these three advanced to the state meet. Earlier in the year, Stephen Fowler, Brennen McGinty, Thomas Fowler, and Patrick Phillips all advanced to the state Cross-x Debate contest in Austin. Congrats to all for a good year!

Pearl Cantrell was in town this past weekend at the Kenny Mode Mask Rodeo Arena during the Richland Springs Project Graduation roping. Pearl said she reads the Coyote Pride every week. She said I better mention her in my next article. Mama taught me to always obey my elders. Congratulations Pearl on being 103 years young. A heartfelt thanks to the Richland Springs Rodeo Association for helping our senior students organize the roping event. A good time was had by all!

Good attendance is so important to student success. The next round of TAKS testing begins April 26. Please urge your child to be at school each and every day, especially during the week of TAKS testing:

The students and staff at Richland Springs ISD wish everyone a blessed Easter holiday. There are only five weeks of school remaining after Easter. We have a great community, students, teachers and staff.

Community involvement is the key to our success!
