Next week is a very big week….to quote our great athletic director, Jeff Pannell, it’s 4th down and 1 and we have to make a move or lose the game…..Next week is TAKS week and it’s time to put in to play all that we have been learning for the year! Please make certain your child comes to school ready and is well rested to take these very important tests. Remember, at 5th, 8th, and 11th grade these tests make a difference in graduation and promotion!!! The TAKS testing schedule is as follows: Monday, April 25 – Math for ESL students needing linguistically accommodation testing (LAT) – Grades 3 – 4, 6 – 7, and 10 also LAT TAKS Modified in Math 3 – 4, 6 – 7 and 10. Tuesday, April 26 – LAT Reading Grades 3 – 4, 6 – 7, and 10. Math for grades 3 – 4, 6 – 7 and 10; LAT TAKS Modified in Grades 3 – 4, 6 – 7 and 10 ELA Reading; Grade 3 – 4, 6 – 7, and 10 in LAT TAKS M. On Wednesday, April 27 – Grades 3 – 4 Reading, 6 – 7 Reading and Exit Level math; TAKS M 3-4 Reading, 6 – 7 Reading and Grade 11 Math. On Thursday, April 28 – Grade 5 Science, Grade 8 Science, Grade 9 Math, Grade 10 Science and Exit Level Science; Grade 5, 8, 9, 11 Science TAKS M. On Friday, April 29 – LAT Grade 5, 8, 10 Science; Grade 8 Social Studies, Grade 10 Social Studies and Exit level Social Studies. Teachers and students have been working so very hard and they are STRESSED to the max! It’s time to show your stuff students! Good luck kiddos - ATTACK THE TAKS!!!! As well, parents don’t forget to sign up for the "alerts" available from the website, and don’t miss the opportunity to sign up for the Parent Portal giving parents access to grades and attendance.
