The enemies of Jesus had thought they had triumphed. Pilate asked that the guard let him know that Jesus was indeed dead before he released the body of Jesus to Joseph of Arimathea. Jesus was dead and buried in the tomb and guards were posted outside the tomb. No one could still his body.

On the first day of the week, the stone was moved miraculously and Jesus was brought to life again. He departed the tomb. Many went into the new tomb and found that He was not there.

Romans 1:4 "… who through the Spirit of holiness was declared with power to be the Son of God by His resurrection from the dead: Jesus Christ our Lord."
