Proposed San Saba Elementary School - May 14, 2011 Election
Thursday, April 14, 2011 • Posted April 14, 2011

San Saba ISD is proposing the construction of a new elementary school. The election to be offered to the voters is scheduled for May 14,2011. The elementary school that is proposed and presented in the two designs here provides for the students of San Saba Elementary School to be housed under one roof. Currently the students attend school in 7 different buildings and cross Storey Street daily during their movement on campus. The proposed structure would be very basic with no frills. The proposed building of 32195 square feet would include classroom space for three classrooms per grade level kindergarten through 4th grade, space for two PK rooms, a nurses office, principal’s office, library, technology labs, counselor’s office and rooms for special education needs. The building would be constructed to hold 350 students. The design promotes a drop-off and pick up at the front of the building that faces north toward Storey Street. Bus pick up and unloading would be stationed at the back of the building on Church Street. If you would like a tour of San Saba Elementary School, please go to the office of the principal located on Church Street. Kay Shackelford is the principal of San Saba Elementary. Please feel free to call or come by the central office and we will provide you a tour of any of the facilities. Please call at 325/372-3771.
