Monday and Tuesday was filled with 5

This information can be very confusing to parents (and students and teachers), but it has been mandated by the state that all school districts administer the STAAR Exams in the 2011-2012 school year. We will do our best to provide information and keep you updated.

I want to send out a shout of praise to a few of our students for going above and beyond. Morgan Mixon has been instrumental in the 8

There is another student that has made some tremendous growth this year. This young man has written a number of memoirs that reflect his growth and will possibly be published. I won’t mention his name without asking him, but he knows who he is.

th and 8th grade TAKS testing (math and reading). We are looking forward to receiving the results at the end of April. The next round of testing will take place on April 26th –April 29th. The weeks will only become more saturated with events and activities as May approaches. Students in high school will be taking End-Of-Course Exams the third week of May. San Saba ISD students were required to take the paper version of the English II, Algebra II, and Physics. San Saba ISD volunteered to try the EOC tests for high school subjects online so our students would be prepared for the difference in state testing next year. There are a number of benefits if students prefer online testing. Since every high school student has a laptop, this could be a real possibility. STAAR will replace TAKS tests next year. Students entering 9th grade and below will be responsible for STAAR (State of Texas Assessment s of Academic Readiness). Students entering 10th and 11th grade next year will be responsible for graduating with the TAKS test. th grade science tutoring program.
