Elm Grove Echoes

I don’t have to tell you how badly we need rain and there is none in the forecast. It is a very serious situation for our farmers and ranchers. I know we are all plenty tired of the wind.

We are kicking off another new month. My, they do fly by! The 42 tournament will be Saturday night at Elm Grove. The Busy Bee quilters will meet on the 12th. The Elm Grove community meeting will be on the 16th. Final plans for the annual homecoming picnic will be made at that time. We really need all the local folks to show up and find out what your job for the picnic will be.

Marilyn and Michael Suber and I attended the Pine Wood Derby competition in Brady where Jesse Tucker competed as a Tiger Cub. He won third place and was an excited little boy! There were a lot of folks crowded into the fellowship hall and the competition lasted over 2 hours but it was interesting and we really enjoyed it all.

We have been keeping up with some of the college basketball games. The Aggie girls made it to the Final Four for the first time ever and defeated Stanford by 1 point to go on to play Notre Dame for the national championship. These have been some nailbiter games! We were worn out after watching the Aggie girls play Stanford
