Wednesday evening, March 30, 2011, the RSHS One Act Play, August: Osage County written by Tracy Letts, performed at the District 30A contest held in Mason, Texas. Richland Springs and Utopia were named the advancing schools. Utopia performed Wonder of the World. The AREA contest will be held Saturday, April 9th in Fredericksburg in the high school theatre.

Richland Springs’ August: Osage County received the following individual awards: Thomas Hollon was named to the All-Star Crew; Melanie Hedley and Brooke Vaughn received Honorable Mention; Brennen McGinty, Brooklyn McGinty, and Katelynn Teel were named to the All-Star Cast; and once again, Sara Hedley was named Best Actress. The play is directed by Mrs. Patsy Hall.
