Michael Frixos Alexander Theodosis, 52, of Austin, Texas passed away suddenly of a massive heart attack at his home on Saturday, March 26, 2011. Mike was born on February 10, 1959 in Manhattan, New York to Nicholas and Anastasia Theodosis. After graduating from Walt Whitman High School on Long Island in 1977, Mike traveled south to Texas where he attended the University of Texas from 1977-1979. This is where he and Sally Shannon met and fell in love. They both served missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Mike went to Italy and Sally went to Argentina. They were then married on December 29, 1981 in the Washington, D.C. temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. After finishing his undergraduate work at the State University of New York at Old Westbury, Mike later obtained his MBA at the University of Houston.

Theodosis means gift of God and that is what Mike has been to all of his precious family and wonderful friends. Mike is well known and respected for his hard work, unselfishness and optimism as well as for his quick wit and much appreciated sense of humor. He gave much service at home, at church and in the community, having served as a Scout Master multiple times and in many church callings. Mike and Sally loved traveling and speaking foreign languages. His many hobbies included cars, hunting, guns, and skiing, but nothing was more important to him than his wife and children.

Mike was preceded in death by his father, Nicholas Theodosis, and by his brother, Demetrios (Jim) Theodosis. He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Sally Shannon Theodosis and their children, Michael Frixos Alexander Theodosis, Jr. of Fayetteville, N.C; Cynthia Anastasia Theodosis of Los Angeles, CA; Andrew Joseph Theodosis and Charles Nicholas Theodosis of Austin, TX; as well as by his mother, Anastasia (Ann) Theodosis of Kerrville, TX; brother, Byron Theodosis and his wife, Lisa of San Saba, TX; sister, Katina (Kathy) Howard of Horeseheads, NY; sister-in-law, Amelia Theodosis of Austin, TX; and numerous other loving family and friends.

The family received friends on Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home, Austin, TX. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Bee Cave, TX with Bishop Todd McCullough presiding. Interment was Thursday, March 31, 2011, at the Forrest Park Cemetery in Houston, TX. Although Mike never served in the military, he was very proud of his son, Alex, who is serving in the United States Special Operations Forces. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to www.specialopps.org or call 813-805-9400.
