The 5th/6th Grade San Saba Junior Lady Dillos (14-6) wrapped up the 2011 season with a second place finish at the Goldthwaite Basketball Tournament (10 teams) held on March 24 - 26. The Lady Dillos defeated Zephyr in the quarter-finals, 26-8. Raylee Pannell and Saveria Vasquez lead the way for the Lady Dillos with 6 points each, followed by Kimeri Moore, Bailie Santeufemia and Dynasty Saldivar with 4 points each.

In the semi-finals the Lady Dillos defeated Hamilton, 17-8. Vasquez had 8 points followed by Santeufemia with 4 points, Saldivar with 3 points and Raley Kirk with 2 points. Starting point guard Kimeri Moore was unable to participate.

In the championship game the Lady Dillos met the Hamilton Dynamite and lost in a close and exciting game in overtime, 25-28. Vasquez with 12 points and Pannell with 9 points lead the way for the Lady Dillos. Vasquez hit an 18 foot jumper at the buzzer to send the game into overtime. Santeufemia and Alexis Patterson played outstanding defensively as did Saldivar at point guard. Kirk and Kirsten Jimenez held their own at the post position. Moore was unable to participate. Earlier in the year the Lady Dillos picked up a third place finish at the Hamilton and Brownwood Basketball Tournaments.
