The San Saba Ladies Golf Association met March 24, 2011 for play day with the Chair for March, Dorothy Sterner, calling for a game of ‘Mutt & Jeff’, where you play the par threes and par fives plus one extra hole, less half your handicap.

Anita Miles won First in the game and Low Gross and Low Net. Jo Ann Snow won Second and Janet Hoyt won Third.

Dorothy Sterner won the chip in pot and the putt pot. How sweet it is!

Sandee Hartley, Becky Hardin, and Jo Anne Hardy also challenged them to the last hole.

We missed Hattie Rogers, as George, her husband, has had surgery and I am happy to report is doing very well and will soon be home from the hospital. Hattie is a faithful member of the Ladies Assocation and greatly loved!

The ladies are excited about the Senior Ladies Tournament at Delaware Springs and are preparing a basket to be raffled off at the tournament. The ladies volunteered to sponsor a basket, as it is the big money maker for the Senior Ladies Association, and it will, of course, be a theme of PECANS! The ladies have already received several donations for the basket and if you would like to participate in this effort please call Anita Miles, 325-372-3581. We love advertising for our town, San Saba, Texas the Pecan Capital of the World!

The San Saba River Golf Course is in it’s spring array and absolutely beautiful. The City has made so many improvements and it is a real asset for San Saba! If you haven’t been to the course lately you should take a tour, you will be impressed. People come from all over Texas to play golf at our course in our little town! They pass many courses to play in San Saba. It should make us all proud. It’s just a great place to be "swinging!"
