Meeting Goliath

Some boys had thrown a girl’s shoe in the boy’s restroom at their school. One boy retrieved it for her. But then the other boys threatened him saying they would beat him up after school.

The rest of the day was filled with fear as this boy imagined the horror awaiting him after school was out. He became so fearful he left school early and ran home and hid under the bed. When his father came home, he promised to go to school with him the next day to resolve the matter. It was resolved with the offending boys apologizing.

None of us will perhaps ever meet a real giant, but all of us have, or will confront things, situations, or conditions bigger than we are. They may often be scary things that cause us to want to run and hide in fear. Isn’t it refreshing to know that we have a Father who cares about us! He will be there.

Hebrews 13:6: So we say with confidence, "The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?"
