2 Peter: 2:20-21 "For after they have escaped the pollution of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and savior Jesus Christ and again entangled therein, and are overcome, their latter end is worse with them than their beginning. For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than after they have known it, to turn from the Holy commandment that was delivered unto them."

The great apostle Peter was warning his followers to take warning from the great message God had given to him. It is a scriptural message that can apply to individuals, but was probably intended to influence world nations as well. When viewed from that viewpoint all Americans can feel proud that our ancestors had such a strong faith in their scriptural knowledge that they gathered their meager possessions, left their kin, their homeland and entered small unsafe ships to cross a wide raging ocean to then brave an unknown wilderness, all to gain freedom from evil minded world leaders because they had a compelling desire to worship God as their conscience dictated. They believed the scripture that taught it was impossible to love and worship God unless He was obeyed and feared. It is vitally important that we Americans of today have that same fear of God that caused them to place a strong faith in God and accomplish what we have inherited from their success as pioneers under such trying circumstances. The nation they built is still known as the greatest nation in the world. But there is evidence that their compelling fear of God is fading in our beloved nation today. If we lose it, our nation will no longer be great.

I will not be preaching to try to show what I believe God has shown me. Your Bible will show you that often in the past God has punished nations that became so sinful it angered Him, and they were punished many times without mercy. Think seriously, how far can you believe we are from becoming sinful enough to anger God again. I can name a long list of evil sins that we see and hear every day. But, if you are not aware of them, it would do no good to show them again. But just try to visualize how wonderful it would be if we could see no more sins than our brave ancestors did in their living under such trying times.

Remember, this is a warning, God's punishment is often without mercy. Wake up America.
