Keep San Saba Beautiful receives certification

On St. Patrick’s Day, March 17th, the K.S.S.B. (Keep San Saba Beautiful) Commission met for a luncheon at the Civic Center to be certified as a Keep America Beautiful affiliate presented by representatives from Keep Texas Beautiful, Cathie Gail and Anne Cunic. The luncheon was catered by Betty Ann Johnson.

It ’twas not thee luck o’ thee Irish that they were certified, it was the community, sponsors, and everyone working together. The members of the K.S.S.B. Commission are: Chairman, Gail Bruner; Vice Chairman, Anna Wilson; members, Patty Shaw, Vickie Stevenson, Joann Weik and Phillice Magallanes; Director, Susie Jimenez.

Martha Leigh Whitten spoke on behalf of the Mayor and City Council of San Saba, commending the Commission for their accomplishments and improvements. Stan Weik, City Manager, took the visitors on a tour of San Saba before the luncheon so that they could see the improvements and explained future plans.

The purpose of K.S.S.B is to educate and engage citizens to improve their environment.
