Lady Dillo Softball Report

It’s been an action packed two weeks for the Lady Dillos as we kicked off District play. We opened district with Hico and won 9-8 in 8 innings in an exciting game. We then traveled to Comanche and lost 11-1. We played Early at home and lost 10-2, and then this past Friday traveled to Dublin and won 5-1. This win brought our district record to 2-2 on the year.

Nickie Ortiz was in the circle for a majority of the games. Tarah Crosby lent a hand with a start against Early. Both ladies pitched well. Nickie pitched 25 innings allowing 8 earned runs, walking 7, and striking out 28 batters.

Paige Faught led the way in RBIs over this past week with 4. Nickie Ortiz contributed 2. Ashley Pulatie, Tarah Crosby, Kelli Cox, McKenzie Hibler each knocked in a run as well.

The game against Hico was very exciting. The Lady Dillos came to bat tied 8-8 in the bottom of the 8

th innings. Joannah Crosby led off the inning with a double down the right field line, and advanced to third on a bad throw. Ashley Pulatie hit a single to the left side to knock her in.

The game against Dublin was tied 0-0 in the top of the 4

th. Ashley Pulatie led off the inning with a single, Tarah Crosby and Nickie Ortiz both reached on a walk. Paige Faught then drilled a ball off of the fence in left center field for a 3 RBI triple. This hit broke the game wide open. Nickie Ortiz was nearly unhittable, allowing only 1 unearned run on two hits, while striking out 6 batters.

The Lady Dillos will have faced Bangs by print time and we will host Hamilton on Friday. Hope to see you at the Ballpark!!!! ONE TEAM, ONE HEARTBEAT!!!!!!!!
