The Jig saw Puzzle
Thursday, March 17, 2011 • Posted March 17, 2011

Usually during the holidays or spring break or when our family gets together my wife will get out a jigsaw puzzle and the family will work on it together. I am more of a observer than worker. It is interesting to watch how children and adults work on a puzzle. One of our children would either hide or throw out pieces if they could not get them to fit. Another child would try to force the pieces to make them fit. These two traits sure got them in trouble with their mother. Another scheme was to try and put sections of the puzzle where they did not belong. Watching them reminded me of something in the Bible. God’s word the Bible is a lot like that jigsaw puzzle. Every piece is important and how we treat them will have big outcome in our lives now and a whole lot to do with where we spend eternity, (2 Timothy 3:16, Joshua 1:8). To ignore God’s word altogether will cause us eternal suffering and separation from Him, (2 Chronicles 34:21). To force the Bible to make it say what we want will end in frustration and heartache in this life, (Matthew 15:6-9). Leaving out certain parts will never work because it has consequences, (Jeremiah 26:2-6). Oh, what a celebration when every piece of the puzzle is in place. See you in Church next Sunday.
