Matha Ellen Sims Terry

Martha Ellen Sims Terry passed away June 7, 2008 in Austin, Texas at the age of 66. She was a resident of Austin for 47 years. Martha was a member of the Hyde Park Baptist Church for 46 years where she worked with children’s programs and most recently cared for toddlers in the Hyde Park CDC. Martha was also a member of Telcom Pioneers, a charitable organization for telephone company employees and retirees. She was artistic and enjoyed sewing, painting, and making dioramas and dollhouses. After retiring from AT & T, she worked for several years at Kirby Lane Dollhouse Shop. Martha also enjoyed reading, candy making, and spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Charles Terry; daughters: Julie Perales and husband, Robert; and Debbie Johnson and her husband, Jeffrey; brother, Larry Sims; sister, Betty Roberts; grandson, Troy Waldron; three step-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 10, 2008 in the Colonial Chapel of Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 N. Lamar Blvd, Austin, Texas. Graveside services were held Wednesday, June 11th at the Terry Cemetery in San Saba, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.
